The French Corrosion Institute disseminates HELIX at EUROCORR 2024
Geoffrey Ringot, HELIX partner and engineer from the French Corrosion Institute, took part in the European Corrosion Congress (EUROCORR 2024), held between September 1st-5th in Paris (France).
On September 3rd, he delivered the presentation “Sensitivity of high strength steel bolts to hydrogen embrittlement under cathodic protection – influence of grade and process”, which discussed the risk of hydrogen embrittlement on larger grade range, from grades 8.8 to 12.9.
The presentation was included in the session “Environment Sensitive Fracture”, chaired by Tom Depover, Associate Professor from Ghent University.
Within HELIX, the French Corrosion Institute is in charge of the evaluation of hydrogen embrittlement and fatigue testing in real sea water, cyclic corrosion tests according to several standards, and coating testing in simulated offshore conditions.
EUROCORR 2024 brought together corrosion experts from universities, research centers and industries. The event was a forum for presentation and discussion of advances in understanding corrosion.
